Data and trust

Every important number should have a source, a time and a reason.

QuotaScope is designed around published government evidence, last-known-good protection and versioned calculations. It makes limitations visible instead of smoothing them away.

The language matters

QuotaScope reports the latest published balance. It never describes that figure as a guaranteed available balance.

Official sources

The evidence used by the product.

Customer pages read regulatory records already validated and persisted by the platform. The browser does not contact a government API directly.

SourceUsed forControl
UK Trade QuotasPublished quota dataset and immutable balance history.Resolved publication version and source publication time retained.
HMRC Trade TariffCommodity hierarchy, quota measures, origins, duties and conditions.Only successfully promoted source versions reach customer screens.
HMRC monthly exchange ratesCurrency conversion for shipment duty scenarios. The applicable month, rate and source are frozen with the result.

Promotion gate

Failed or partial synchronisations cannot supersede the last successful regulatory version.

Freshness shown

Published data outside the expected source cycle is labelled stale wherever it affects a result.

No fabricated forecast

Sparse history produces a building-history or insufficient-data state.

Immutable versions

Scenario recalculation appends a result instead of rewriting previous evidence.

Company separation

Each customer works inside its own verified workspace.

QuotaScope is a multi-tenant platform. Company context is established from the hostname and verified again against the signed-in organization before customer data is returned.

Organization membership

Personal workspaces are disabled. Access depends on membership of the customer organization.

Server-side authorization

Customer-supplied record identifiers are not trusted as proof that a user may access a record.

Role-based capabilities

Administrator, commercial, compliance and read-only roles separate operational responsibilities.

Traceable changes

Material configuration and scenario changes preserve the actor, timing and calculation context.

Honest boundaries

A forecast supports judgement. It does not reserve quota.

Published quota claims can lag and upstream government services can be unavailable. QuotaScope continues with the last known good record and a visible warning rather than deleting valid evidence or presenting it as current.

  • No guarantee that quota remains when goods clear customs
  • No authoritative commodity classification
  • No assertion of eligibility for conditional tariff treatment
  • No import VAT, landed-cost or customs declaration calculation
  • No direct CBAM return submission
